Insufficient brothers Jakub and David, along with friend Sasa, spend most of their time in the social networking world. Relationships for them are chat with virtual girls they have never seen, living a fake fashion show in which they pretend something that is not the biggest life problem, then a discharged cell phone or a broken wifi. The pressure of parents is forced to go under the leadership of David's charming "stepmother" Tereza on a twenty-kilometer bicycle trip, surprisingly finding out there is a real world out there in which life means more than facebook status, real girls look a little better than cartoon action heroes of virtual games and love also include sex.
Jolana (18) is an object of her step-father's desire. She is unable to cope, especially when her own mother turns a blind eye. Those events are heavily paid for when she finds herself working in a brothel. Her inability to cope raise a question: What is it she actually wants? Are her dreams of escaping really better than the reality she finds herself in?
When Hana Sikorova, mayor of a northern Bohemian village, stands up to a large coal mining concern that offers villagers large compensation in exchange for abandoning their houses built on land containing brown coal deposits, her fourteen year old daughter Misha disappears. The search for her daughter makes Hana suspicious of the whole community, after years of peaceful coexistence. Under the pressure of unfolding events, the community starts to fall apart and show its true face. Solving the mystery divides the story into several interweaving narratives that ultimately connect in unexpected ways.
