Based on the royal and political events during the heyday of the Malacca Sultanate. A member of the Sultanate, Megat Datuk Seri Rama, successfully defeats a group of pirates, and rescues a local beautiful woman in the process. The king, Sultan Mahmud, was delighted with his victory for his kingdom and promotes Megat Datuk Seri Rama to Rear Admiral Datuk. This leads to resentment and jealousy from another member of the court, Bija Tun Ali, especially after Rear Admiral Megat Datuk Seri Rama marries the woman he rescued. At their wits end, the local police enlist the help of talented police inspector Dasuki to trap and end the oily man’s mischief. Orang Minyak was digitally restored by the Asian Film Archive in 2018 using a 16mm black & white composite release print from its collection.

The movie adaptation based on the legend of Raden May Ayu. It follows the original tale rather closely, though a few variations of the legend do exist. The essence of each of the variations is more or less the same: Radin Mas Ayu is the baby daughter of Pangeran (brother of the Sultan of Java) and a court dancer; she is forced to go on exile to Temasek with his father after the Sultan disagrees with her parents' marriage and burns their house down, killing her mother. Radin Mas Ayu grows up to be a pious and filial daughter, but is despised out of jealousy by her stepmother. She eventually sacrifices herself as she shields her father from a murderous attack.

Produced by Cathay-Keris, this omnibus of three stories (with different directors) was adapted from mystery tales featuring Detective Inspector Latiff (S. Roomai Noor), a character created Pelham Groom, a former British officer and genre writer who settled in Singapore. Latiff’s ‘Watson’ is a female Chinese forensic doctor (Mary Lim), and the first story 'Mud on Her Shoes' hinges on the romance between an English expat and a Malay woman. The second story is the titular 'Hantu Rimau'. The third tale ’Double Knock Out’, heralded as the first depiction of a local boxing match, was shot in Happy World (later renamed Gay World), one of the night-life amusement parks known as the ‘Worlds’. The film tells of Pak Pandir, a rich man who uses a strange approach to his daily life. She raised her four children using a strict disciplinary approach such as having to get up early in the morning, to sleep early at night, and not to mix with women as well as the common people in the village. However, without her knowledge, her children were already hanging out with the people in her village. The problem begins when her children compete against each other to win the heart of a girl who is in fact a dumb girl who is an individual who desperately wants her daughter to marry rich and wealthy people. Unfortunately, without the knowledge of his children Mr Pandir himself managed to get the girl to be his wife.

To seek revenge on a woman whom doesn't reciprocate his love, Dato Ali lies to the Sultan that misfortune will befall him and his kingdom if a sacrificial ritual is not performed. The Sultan believes him and orders that the sacrificial ritual be carried out, without knowing that it involves the use of blood from a woman in her first pregnancy on the sail boat 'Lancang Kuning' before its maiden voyage.

Siti Zubaidah is based upon the 19th century poem 'Syair Siti Zubaidah Perang Cina'. It centers on Siti Zubaidah, the wife of Sultan Zainal Abidin, who is left defenseless after her husband is taken hostage by a Chinese empress. She eventually allies herself with Princess Rukia of Yunnan, who had fled her own palace under threats of sexual assault. Taking matters into their own hands, they adopt male identities and lead a military conquest across China to rescue the Sultan. Directed by B. N. Rao and starring Maria Menado, the Cathay production borrowed from both of its niches at the time: the film language and costume styles of Malay cinema and Chinese wuxia films, resulting in an imagined reality fusing both visual cultures. At the core of the myriad garbs, armour, accessories and makeup donned by the characters, the tale chronicles the adoption of transformative identities to overcome adversity, enact justice and revenge.

This film simply tells how Doyok and Kadir always have plenty of opportunities, but never quite succeed in making anything of them. Something always goes wrong. As soon as they set foot in Jakarta they have a problem with a restaurant owner. Then, when they do try and eventually get jobs, they encounter difficulties again. They are being chased by a crowd, when, in their attempt to get away, they end up in a storehouse full of stolen gold. They grab some gold, but when they try to get away with the ill-gotten goods, they fall into a river. The only thing they end up with is an angry robber intent on hunting them down.
