In an abandoned hospital in Tainan, a group of people came to try to communicate with the souls of their loved ones, only to be haunted by ominous supernatural phenomena.

A widow by the name of Lee Jiu Jin, willingly sold herself to a farway outskirts village without knowing that she is to be shared by 7 men, so as to raise the money for her son's wedding. As these villagers are extremely poor, the men could not afford to keep a wife. This kind of transaction was common in China for women to be sold as brides, but the Government intend to put a stop to such practices by enforcing laws which results in the exile of lawbreakers. Bearing this in mind, Lee and her 7 husbands lived in constant fear of being caught and as for Lee the sufferings and hardships were more than she could bear. As the time passes, Lee grew to understand all 7 men's background, and her hatred for them turn into pity. This relationship at last ended in tragedy.

Taipei, late Dec 2012. The city is going through an unprecedented winter heatwave, with temperatures in the 30s. Eight-year-old Tiger (Antoine) lives with his divorced mother, Cao Yi (Vivian Hsu), 36, who is struggling to make ends meet with her job as a magazine editor and reduced alimony payments from her ex-husband (Tang Kuo-chung). Tiger, who has a hyper-active imagination and sees his mother as a run-down robot who needs a new model, is not very bright at school and worries his art teacher (Mini Yang) with the dark pictures he draws in class.

Hui Chi-Ho (Jimmy Lin) is a secondary college student, coming from a rich family. It causes the dissatisfaction of "Crow", the big brother in the class, and he always finds ways to challenge Ho. Then enters a new student, , "Eagle" (Takeshi Kaneshiro) who takes Hui under his wings. Ho is really grateful to what Eagle has done. At the same time, the assassins from the underworld are revenging "Eagle"...
