2012. Animation

The fourth instalment in the surreal Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared videos in which the three returning characters enter a sinister digital world through their computer.

During a chicken picnic, Yellow Guy gets upset after Green Bird kills a butterfly. Yellow Guy then meets a butterfly that takes him on a journey to discover his concept of love.

Playing with scale and bringing objects to life, the film creates a subverted world where the mundane becomes absurd.

Don't Hug Me I'm Scared is about 3 best friends who go on an adventure to find a magic pirate ship and save the day. Featurette included on the kickstarter backers DVD

A DHMIS short film that premiered in 2019 at the Sundance Film Festival and was originally pitched as a pilot of Pelling, Sloan, and Terry's 2022 TV show. Though, feeling the Clayhill setting made the series too similar to South Park, and came at the cost of the claustrophobia of the original series, it was scrapped and since been removed from festival circulation. The tester was only shared in a few private premieres, but clips have turned up online over the years.

Inspired by the drawn-on-film pieces by Norman McLaren, Len Lye, and Man Ray, Becky & Joe collaborated with musicians Delicate Steve to create the charming and beautiful Tallest Heights. This work is part of the “Hello, Again” series presented by the Lincoln Motor Company, which asks filmmakers to reimagine the familiar into something fresh and new.
