French-language version of Port Arthur (1936), a German language film (q.v.) co-produced by German, French and Czechoslovakian film interests. About espionage, action and romance in the Russo-Japanese War, as the conflict threatens Russian naval officer Boris Ranewsky and his Japanese wife Youki.
A baby is abandoned near the Neva in St. Petersburg 1890. A teacher picks it up and takes the little girl. 20 years pass, Masha (Claudia Victrix) flee Russia because her father conspired against the Tsarist regime and is in the attention of the dangerous General Bourgassoff (Jean Toulout) . She goes to study medicine in Paris....
Luc Froment, a reform-minded engineer, starts working at a steel mill in a small town. There he founds small groups of workers (and their families) under miserable conditions. Under the influence of Fourier's ideas, Froment tries to turn the mill into a workers' co-operative.

The brave Monsieur Breloque has a friend, Pierre Martel, a private detective. When the latter asks him to replace him for a while, Breloque, although having no competence in the matter, accepts. He anticipates adventures and misadventures but also happy surprises.
