K. S. Ashwath

Eradu Rekhegalu is a 1984 Indian Kannada language drama film directed by K. Balachander. The film stars Srinath, Geetha and Saritha in the lead roles. Produced by Chandulal Jain, the film is a remake of 1969 Tamil hit Iru Kodugal starring Gemini Ganesan, Sowcar Janaki and Jayanthi. The music is composed by M. S. Viswanathan. The story revolves around a man who circumstantially gets to marry two women and undergoes emotional roller-coaster. The film was made in Telugu as Collector Janaki and in Hindi as Sanjog.

Shabdavedi is about Sandeep Rajkumar, a strict police officer crusading against narcotics. The man is so straight that when his wife Jaya Prada refuses to reveal the identity of a key link in the drug ring that he is investigating. He beats her in lockup. Eventually he overcomes all the usual attempts to throw him off the chase like tarnishing his reputation and implicating him in lock-up death cases and tracks the ring down to its last man.

Although Ramachari falls madly in love with Alamelu, her parents forbid their marriage and force her to marry another man. But Ramachari can't stand idly by when he discovers his sweetheart's husband has become her pimp. Quietly aiding Ramachari on his quest to save Alamelu is Chamayya, a childless woman who loves him as much as if he were her own son.

Muyyige Muyyi is a 1978 Indian Kannada-language film, directed by Y. R. Swamy and produced by P. Krishna Raj. The multi-starrer is led by Srinath, Vishnuvardhan, Aarathi, Manjula, Roja Ramani and Chandrashekhar.

Ramachandra Rao, a professor, is forced to marry Gowri at his family's behest despite being in love with Lalitha. He fails to get along with his wife and broods about his lost love. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Vani. The film is considered as one of the greatest romantic films in Kannada noted for the strong performances of lead actors Rajkumar and Kalpana.

Range Forest Officer Kumar's son is posted in the same forest and must carry on the work that was started by his father and protect the heritage site.

Chandanada Gombe is a simple love story. Anant Nag is a landlord. Lakshmi's father is a school teacher who is struggling to find a bridegroom for Lakshmi. They get married with the help of relatives. Anant Nag unfortunately dies in an accident. The rest of the story continues about the life of a struggling widow and her child in a traditional society amid village politics.

Krishna refuses to accept Kamini's love for him. But when Kamini dies and her ghost possesses Krishna, his wife, Gayatri, tries to save him from this situation.

Bayaludaari is a 1976 Indian Kannada-language film directed and produced by the Dorai–Bhagavan duo. It is based on the novel of the same name by Bharathi Sutha. This was the first movie of the director duo without Dr. Rajkumar in the lead. The film starred Anant Nag, Kalpana, and K. S. Ashwath. It was a musical blockbuster with all the songs composed by Rajan–Nagendra considered evergreen hits. Bayalu Daari was the first commercial success for Anant Nag who had earlier done art films and established himself as a leading star in the Kannada cinema with a chocolate hero image. This film was one the last big hits of Kalpana. The helicopter scenes formed a major highlight of the movie.

Geetha is a 1981 Indian Kannada romance drama film directed by and starring Shankar Nag in the lead role, alongside Padmavathi Rao. The supporting cast features K. S. Ashwath, Ramesh Bhat and Gayathri. Ilayaraaja composed the soundtrack and the background score for the film that and was declared a blockbuster musical hit. The track "Santhoshakke" from the film became widely popular in Karnataka and is still performed for in concerts and other events

Vasantha Lakshmi is a 1978 Indian Kannada-language film, directed by A. V. Seshagiri Rao and produced by K. Vittala Kumar, K. V. Honnappa and K. V. Gurunath. The film stars Srinath, Vishnuvardhan, Aarathi, and Manjula. The film has musical score by Vijaya Bhaskar. The movie is a remake of the 1974 Tamil movie Engamma Sapatham.
