Overwhelmed by personal and professional problems, biologist Friedrich von Kammacher decides to travel abroad in order to regain the joy of living. During his adventurous journey he will meet two very different women, one of whom will be the key to his fate.

Of the films that Psilander made at Nordisk during the first two years it is the film Dødsspring til Hest fra Cirkuskuplen (The Great Circus Catastrophe), that is worth noting. Maybe not so much for Psilander's acting, but for the sensational, action-packed storylines that he was in. This film shows the other side of Psilander's fame: his daring. He was an excellent rider and looked fantastic in long riding boots and elegant riding jackets and this skill was exploited in his films.

Following some dodgy dealings, stockbroker Saccard is determined to pull himself out of the gutter and regain is reputation. He is of such ill repute that few, not even his own brother, want anything to do with him. Yet against all the odds he manages to establish a bank. FRAGMENT | Bedridden mine owner Werner dies of an accidental opium overdose and his foster daughter is suspected of killing him. The mine owner’s friend Hard was in prison for theft, and his daughter Erna was therefore in Werner’s care. Hard escaped from prison and found Werner on his deathbed. With the best of intentions, he soothed his old friend’s pain with opium, but unfortunately too generously. Now everyone suspects Erna except Werner’s son Alf, who must prove her innocence. The two young officers Edmond and Clayton both fall in love with Rose – the daughter of the Minister of War. When Rose falls victim to a serious accident, Clayton risks his life to save her whereas Edmond cowardly shrinks from helping.
