Biography
Eugène Py (1859–1924) was a French-born photographer and filmmaker, naturalized Argentine. Considered a pioneer of Argentine cinema, he directed what is considered the first film made in this country, "La Bandera Argentina" (The Argentinian Flag) in 1897.

Also known as The Operation of Dr. Alejandro Posadas. Filmed with early orthochromatic film in the Hospital de Clínicas de la Ciudad in Buenos Aires.
