The main character, Helmi, is born into the house of Baron von Strandmann in Old-Town Tallinn, in 1908. The only thing that she knows for sure about her past is that her mother was an Estonian servant girl. Everything else is a discovery during a life that runs the course of a century - a life that has quite a lot of surprises in store for Helmi. In this house she finds happiness and suffering, passion and disappointment. She grows up alongside young Erik and waits for her big love to blossom. But one floor down lives projectionist Julius - a man who is far from indifferent when it comes to Helmi. All of the biggest historical events of the century leave their mark on the house. Its hardwood floors have born soldiers' gruff boots and gentleman's shiny oxfords. Its walls have held the fates of people from far and near, foreigners and locals. Helmi's home becomes a German salon, a revolution museum, and a working class commune. And as freedom comes, real estate crooks start sniffing ...

Two talented radio actors from Estonia have their lives turned upside down by the arrival of Gerli.

Tallinn is known for its medieval old town. However, not only the old houses and streets have been preserved, we have also come down to ancient legends related to these places. The film is about the Oleviste Church and the mysterious craftsman who built one of the world's tallest towers for this church at one time.

A documentary with elements of animation about 85-year-old Elbert Tuganov and 80-year-old Heino Pars - two animators and artists who despite changing times have become masters of their domain. The exact time of the real events in the documentary is not actually essential. It may be yesterday, today, tomorrow... And it may happen to you... and to me... However, in the film, it all took place in the 1950s, the time when the first Sputnik was launched to space, rivers were reversed and hydraulic power plants built.

It's December and Christmastime, but outside the summer sun blazes. Something is wrong! The Mayan calendar predicts that the world will end on December 21, 2012. Every Estonian has to decide how they will spend their last days. Rait finally wants to confess his feelings to his lifelong love, the starlet Lenna Kuurmaa. His friend Mihkel, hits his head, goes bonkers, and needs to save the world by sacrificing that very same Lenna to the Sun Gods. Brenda wants to escape her dictatorial mother but insane asylum orderlies chase her. Ervin wins the world's last lottery and is so upset by not having any way to spend it that he wants to die from misery. Confusion reigns, but hope always dies last... And, fortunately, the end finally comes.

Carrot unites all the characters of the story. The Hare doesn't have a carrot. But the Snowman has it. The Hare is hungry. The Snowman becomes hunted. The Snowman tries to hide itself from the Hare by unbelievable camouflage and disguise, but it is the Carrot that betrays him again and again. The coming of beautiful spring shows that the Snowman is not a real snowman and the trouble-maker Carrot becomes a sign of reconciliation.

The family is on an outing. Mother and father are laying the picnic table, meanwhile the small ones start playing on a meadow. The hen wanders into somebody's vegetable patch and is scared to half-death seeing a scarecrow. Everybody starts looking for her and the little brother encounters a snake. But the hen is brave now and ends up as the hero of the day...

In the high seas, a legless fisherman meets a big two-headed ship, where weird handless creatures are dancing around their big goddess. She gives birth to a child while the battle between their ship and fisherman is going on... The ship sinks and the fisherman’s iceberg home sinks too. Somewhere life goes on, surrounded by a wedding-car's music: Beach Boys’ “Surfin’ USA"!

Miriam goes camping with her family and her chicken, on the lakeside. But a chicken was not made just for swimming and sunbathing. It was made to get in trouble.

Shows the stories of four different people with one part in common - they all live 91 km away from Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. In a peaceful manner, the film pays homage to the simple working man and shows their Estonia through fear and mercy, worries and joy.

The hen enjoys playing around with kites. When Miriam has no more time for it, the hen convinces the little brother to go along. But the kite is too big for little brother and it flies him up to a treetop. Miriam and the hen need to act fast to get him down. As joint effort it works.
