Biography
Sandro Franchina was an Italian film director, screenwriter, and actor. He began his career as a child actor, notably appearing in Roberto Rossellini's Europe '51 (1952) alongside Ingrid Bergman. Transitioning to directing, Franchina is best known for Morire gratis (1968), a film that explores the journey of a young artist traveling from Rome to Paris. His work often delved into themes of existentialism and the human condition, contributing to Italian cinema during the 1960s.

Three kids climb over the wall of an old cemetery in the Piacenza countryside and reach a boy their age, who is praying in front of a tomb. Then, they all run out and reach an ancient abandoned cemetery. Here they amuse themselves by destroying votive statues and uncovering tombstones from which they extract bones and teeth.
