She have seen the children grow up.She have seen some of them develop into rebels, others more resigned. There are major contradictions within the family that mainly concern tradition or renewal. By telling about Chadia and her daughters and the rest of the family, she mean's that she is simultaneously reflecting the great religious, ideological and political conflicts going on in the Middle East.
