Goede tijden, slechte tijden, also known as GTST, is the longest-running Dutch soap opera, revolving around the lives of the families Alberts, Sanders, De Jong, Van Houten and Bouwhuis. It all takes place in the fictional town of Meerdijk.
Best Friends follows the life of a group of friends at their high school ‘Spangalis College’. Inside and outside of school exciting and challenging experiences take place. Growing up is never easy; every character has its own, unique story of love, friendship, loneliness, sorrow, discovery. There is drama and joy in school, family, teachers, parents, divorce, bullying, and always dreams for the future.
Former Amsterdam police detective Floris Wolfs has been transferred to the police department of the south-Dutch country town Maastricht. His metropolitan experience nicely complements the local expertise of his new country colleagues, who know the folks. On January 2, 1994 the Dutch KRO television started an comic TV-show, based on the American sitcom 'The Honeymooners'. The scripts of these series were translated and edited by Gerard Cox and Sjoerd Pleijsier, two of the main actors. From the start of the fourth season they started to write their own episodes. The series are taking place in the south of Rotterdam, late fifties. The last season of the series took place in 1976.
