This is a communist propaganda movie that follows the life of an engineer who is in conflict with power hungry apparatchiks.

During the times of the Second World War in Royal Romania, a street smart kid accidentally becomes part of an organization which will eventually decide the future of his country.

An amateur troupe is playing a scene with Afrodite, Dionysos and Neptune; but also dome old shamanic dances. Dița and Dionis are preparing for wedding. After the Nazi troops retreat from Czechoslovakia, some troops are left behind and choose to fight to death holding a castle instead of surrendering to the soviets.

The movie is about the historic moment in which the PNȚ political party has attempted to form a government in exile to counteract the Petru Groza Russian puppet government. Obviously this is seen through the lenses of communist propaganda.

Sent on assignment to write a report on a scientist from an industrial complex, Caius, an established author, bumps into former schoolmate Cosma. Together they attend the press junket, discovering the subject of Caius’ assignment to be none other than their former university crush, Irina. The joyful reunion takes them to their old haunts, but once Cosma leaves, the remaining couple head down memory lane, spending the evening confronting each other with their conflicted shared history of love and abandonment. Between Caius’ enduring charm and Irina’s guarded independence, their romantic two-step will finally bring them requited closure.
