Biography
Ivan Jandl (24 January 1937 – 21 November 1987) was a Czech child actor. He appeared in the 1948 film The Search as a nine-year-old Czech boy who had survived Auschwitz and was searching for his mother in postwar Germany. The boy spoke no English and had to learn his lines phonetically. He was awarded an Academy Juvenile Award for his work, but was not permitted to travel to the USA to accept it. He appeared in some Czech films in 1949 and 1950, then left acting to continue his studies. The Search
Many of the young workers at an aircraft factory near Prague are members of an aviation club. On the one hand, there is the responsible Franta, who is highly regarded by his colleagues due to his understanding nature. Opposite him is the talented aircraft designer Ruda, who is also an excellent pilot, but also hotheaded, undisciplined and condescending towards his colleagues. He starts flirting with the glass grinder Lída, although he knows that she is Franta's girl friend. A conflict is not long in coming. When Franta's glider crashes due to a suspected mistake by Ruda, Ruda is banned for a certain period of time. This is fatal, because both young men were actually supposed to represent Czechoslovakia at the upcoming international gliding championships in Poland.
Victorious Wings
Karel Doležal, insurance clerk and exemplary father of a family, leaves for a business trip with his secretary Vlasta. After spending the night together, they both return home. However, thanks to a small moment of inattention, they run over the boys. Karel runs away from the scene of the crime. He won't tell anyone what happened. Then when he reads in the newspaper that the boy did not survive the accident, he begins to feel guilty. He confides in his wife about the accident, not the infidelity. Their son Jirka overhears everything. His father has always been his role model, and that's why he doesn't want to accept his guilt.

The Green Notebook
A drama about Slovaks who emigrated before WW I. It is focused on the life of Ondrej Muranica. He emigrates to America because of the hard life that is partly caused by Hungarian landowners. His dreams and hopes for a happier life are destroyed by a disaster in the mines where he works. Ondrej is declared missing.Years later he returns to his home country and finds out his wife married his best friend.
