Biography

Mexican superstar who became a superstar in the 1980s due to her wild personality and hard rock. Similar to Janis Joplin in her recording style, and with a personality like that of Madonna's, Trevi filmed several Mexican films that sealed her fame. However, in the 1990s Trevi's career started to go downhill, and after becoming romantically involved with her manager, Sergio Andrade, Trevi found herself on the run from Mexican police, and later Interpol. Wanted by authorities for child prostitution, child slavery, and child abuse, both Trevi and Andrade were fugitives from the law for about two years before being arrested by Brazilian authorities in Rio de Janiero in April 2000. She was released from jail in 2004 and returned to Mexico where charges of child abuse and endangerment were later dropped. La Voz... México is a reality show and singing competition based on the format of The Voice originated in the Netherlands and part of the international franchise The Voice created by television producer John de Mol. Mexico is the first Spanish-speaking country to adapt this format and the first among 6 globally. The show began its first season on September 11, 2011, under the production of Televisa executive producer Miguel Angel Fox. The series' first episode scored a rating of 28.2/47.1, surpassing Spanish-language TV series La Academias rating of 9.6/17. The second season began on September 9, 2012 as scheduled, though was slightly delayed before the airing of its final episode due to the death of judge Jenni Rivera, who died in a plane crash in Iturbide, Nuevo León on December 9, 2012, dedicating an entire episode as a tribute to the late singer.

Pelo Suelo follows Gloria Trevi, an aspiring singer who works in a Monterrey bar, performing her own compositions, and dreams of going to the capital to start a professional career. After a rather awkward encounter with a famous singer, Gloria finally decides to leave the bar where she has worked for so many years to seek her fortune in the capital. On the way to her destination, on a motorcycle trip, Gloria will be accompanied by Ricky, a boy who escaped from a kidnapping carried out by a gang that will not stop chasing the boy until he returns the stolen diskette, which contains information on the modus operandi of your organization. Meanwhile, in the city, a producer in crisis argues with his star singer and decides to look for new talent for the record company. After receiving an amateur recording of Gloria sent to him by the bar owner, the producer won't stop until he finds her.
