Pauw & Witteman is a Dutch late-night talk show, hosted by Jeroen Pauw en Paul Witteman. It is generally focused on current affairs and politics. It is broadcast every weekday at 11 pm on Nederland 1. It is produced by Dutch public broadcasters NPS and VARA. During summer Pauw & Witteman are replaced by Knevel & Van de Brink, a talk show hosted by Andries Knevel and Thijs van den Brink, produced by the dutch evangelical broadcasting company, the EO.

Set in Amsterdam’s Jordaan, the remake brings back the beloved café, its barman Kootje, mate Lukas, and neighbour Doortje, now facing the threat of a nearby highway endangering the pub.

Kootje won a cruise on the Rhine and takes Door with him on vacation.

Kootje de Beer has sold his café Schaep met de 5 Pooten. It was time for a new challenge. Kootje started a camping at the North Sea: 't Vrije Schaep. His friend Lukas moves along with him and his regular clients don't let him down. But, where is Door? Without her, nothing is the same...

The story takes place in the late 1970s, two years after 't Vrije Schaep. Lukas has followed his friend Sjon to Spain. Lukas and Sjon have started a guesthouse on the Spanish coast. Kootje (Pierre Bokma) has had to return Camping 't Vrije Schaep to nature and has become unemployed. Doortje is disappointed that her relationship with Kootje has not led to a real relationship. Lena is pregnant and wants to become the first 'bom - Consciously Unmarried Mother' in the Netherlands. Opoe has grown old and infirm. Greet and Huipie are busy with their twins and are running on empty. Riek and Arie have inherited from an old aunt, but want to keep this a secret from their friends.

In the late 19th-century, the Tippel family moves to rural Stavoren in search of greener pastures. However, their dreams are quickly shattered, as teenage Katie is terrorized by a male-dominated society who only see her as an object. Her situation worsens when, following her father's sacking and her elder sister's descent into alcoholism, her mother decides that, rather than starving, Katie becomes a prostitute.

When Finn meets a mysterious old man, who plays the violin beautifully, he decides to learn how to play the violin as well. The old man teaches him, while Finn's dad thinks he is playing football... Is Finn the only one who sees the magic of music? What does his father hide?
