Küstenwache is a German television series that tells the fictionalized adventures of a unit of Federal Coast Guard officers off the German coast of the Baltic Sea.

Marienhof is a German soap opera, first shown on October 1, 1992 on German TV channel, Das Erste. It started as a weekly series, before becoming a daily program on January 2, 1995. The show was canceled in February 2011 and aired its last episode on June 15, 2011. In the 90s, the Marienhof became a huge success in Finland and remained a fan favorite until it was canceled to license problems. Over the years, the show became known for tackling several social issues, such as homosexuality, homelessness, private bankruptcy, rape, drug abuse, AIDS, child abuse, suicide, cancer, adultery and murder. The show focuses on the everyday life of the residents of the Marienhof, a fictional suburb in Cologne.

Schwurgericht (also known as The Murder Film ) is a crime film series produced by Sat.1 from 1995 to 1997. The series depicts criminal cases from the perspective of the public prosecutors. The series was conceived as a competitor to ARD's Tatort ( Tatort) and initially aired during prime time on Sundays at 8:15 p.m. However, ratings fell short of expectations. The series was ultimately canceled in 1997. Completed episodes were later broadcast under the title Der Mordsfilm (The Murder Film) or without a series title.

Several young girls were killed in a rural area. Thus Inspector Matthaei has to travel to the region where it happened and has to search for the killer. When all the people suspect a roamer to be the killer he gets lynched and everybody thinks that the crimes will stop now but not Matthaei who searches for a blond girl that looks just like the ones that were murdered. He finds one and stays with her and her mother, attracting the murderer with the girl trying to catch him this way.

A young woman has inherited her late mother's night kiosk. She tries to overcome her grief and the planned break-up with her boyfriend by having friends and customers tell her stories about happiness, which she records on a video camera. As the tapes pile up, she realizes that the other happiness seekers are also fleeing fate and their loneliness.

Copywriter Lorenz is gay and has a relationship with his boss Adrian. The two are happy together until Lorenz meets secretary Nina one day. Nina has just been abandoned by her husband Kai, who is now with a man. Lorenz also suddenly develops new, unknown feelings. He falls in love with Nina, a woman. Of course, he does everything he can to keep that from Adrian. But that does not hide Lorenz's emotional chaos.
