Biography

Rayson Tan, a former flight steward, joined the-then SBC station after emerging as the second runner-up in Star Search ’90, Singapore’s bi-annual nationwide talent search. He made his debut in the small screen as a shrewd and unscrupulous young man in “Golden Shenton Way”. This reticent actor stretches himself by taking on multi-faceted roles. He was an upright police inspector in “Ladies In Action”, a suave and cool-headed swordsman in the period drama “Web Of Deceit”, a faithful husband in “Courting Trouble”. Rayson is able to handle such diverse role with ease. One of the station’s most outstanding character actors, Rayson vowed audiences with his portrayal of a deranged old man in “A Different Life” in 1996, a saga which spanned several eras. In 1997, Rayson was chosen to act as the World War II anti-Japanese hero Lim Bo Seng in the blockbuster of the year “Price of Peace”. In 2000, Rayson teams up with regional actors in the second season of “Master Swordsman Lu Xiao Feng II”, a co-production between Singapore, China and Taiwan. A very personable person by nature, he teams up with his wife Chen Li Ping, in “City Spy”, giving the show their own dose of fun and cheer, winning the hearts of audiences and critics alike, making it one of the popular variety programmes in Singapore. His commendable performances as a triad boss in “A Song To Remember” and a loan shark runner from China in “It Takes Two” further earned him Best Supporting Actor nominations at Star Awards 2012 and 2013 respectively. 2014, Rayson has won the Best Supporting Actor in 19th Annual Asian Television Awards, the region's most prestigious industry award. Recent productions included “Heart To Heart”, “C.L.I.F. 5”, “Happy Prince” and "Super Dad" which will be released in 2020.

The media in Taiwan is gripped by a recent incident where an ATM machine mysteriously dispensed a large amount of cash. With no suspects in sight, the police is stumped while the public is intrigued. Meanwhile, a luxury car stopped in front of a small pottery shop, the owner of the shop Guo Hao Sen (Blue Cheng-Lung Lan) reluctantly enters the car - As a young scion of a commercial bank in Taiwan, Hao Sen is plucked from obscurity and sent to the Singapore office by his power hungry uncle after the death of his elder brother. A power struggle ensues across the border while an insidious plot for revenge begins. As the wheel of revenge starts, a group of seemingly innocent young people, Xiao Ai (Joanne Tseng), Ting Xuan (Kuan-Ting Liu), Lu Di (Elvin Ng) and Dong Huang (Romeo Tan) get embroiled in the plot. Who is behind the ATM incident and what links are there with those in Singapore? As their fate intertwines, they soon realize they are closer to each other than they think.

A Song to Remember

A Song to Remember is a MediaCorp Channel 8 historical-cum-musical drama which is set in the 1930s to 1940s in early Singapore before World War II. It debuted on Channel 8 on 22 November 2011 and was telecast every weekday night at 9.00 pm. This drama stars Qi Yuwu and Joanne Peh who had paired up thrice after The Little Nyonya and C.L.I.F., and Eelyn Kok, Julie Tan and Desmond Tan. Chen Hanwei plays a villain in this drama while Eelyn Kok is also another antagonist. Viewers can catch episodes on xinmsn catchup from 23 November 2011. It was reported that the scriptwriter Ang Ee Tee took several years to complete the script of this drama. Despite large amounts of resources and money pumped in for the production and promotion of this serial, the drama was not well received by the audience when it was broadcast. Many perceived the show to be boring and slow-paced, and the acting skills of some of the main cast members were heavily criticised.

Super Dad

Xu Wei Hao and Li Zheng Yi are neighbours who share one thing in common, both men are looked down upon by their wives and children. They receive a mysterious box of chocolates one day, thinking it was a mistake by the post office, Wei Hao and Zheng Yi each took a piece of the chocolate. Zheng Yi, once a cowardly policeman, suddenly possesses superb ability in solving a crime. While Wei Hao regains the respect of his daughter by saving her when she fell from a building. Chen Kai, the ex-husband of Zheng Yi's wife, was released from jail and tries to seek forgiveness. Seeing his sincerity in turning over a new leaf, Zheng Yi took him in. He accidentally took a piece of the chocolate and discovers its super power. The trio starts to rely on the chocolate every time they needed its super power to solve problems, making them the Super Dad in their children's eyes. One day, the three fathers see their own children in danger, but there is only one piece of chocolate left.

Lin He Xiang Niang raised four sons and two daughters on her own. Lin Shi Jie is the son of Xiang Niang's deceased eldest son. Shi Jie's wife Su Xian left him. Shi Jie then moved abroad with their son, Jia Yuan. When Jia Yuan returned to the ancestral house and witnessed how Xiang Niang's children eyed her inheritance, he worked hand in hand with Xiang Niang to bring the family back together. The third son Lin Xiao He is domineering towards his family and his wife adheres to all he says. Their only daughter, Lin Shi Hui performs well both in school and at work but shares a strained relationship with her father. She meets the young and promising Master's student Liu Xuan and they marry shortly despite her father's disapproval. The duo soon splits after realising their mismatch, however they still habour feelings for each other. The youngest son Lin Xiao Ping is a tailor. His son Lin Shi Jun is one who seeks to take shortcuts to success.
