The story of Stargate SG-1 begins about a year after the events of the feature film, when the United States government learns that an ancient alien device called the Stargate can access a network of such devices on a multitude of planets. SG-1 is an elite Air Force special operations team, one of more than two dozen teams from Earth who explore the galaxy and defend against alien threats such as the Goa'uld, Replicators, and the Ori.

With the Ancients' city of Atlantis discovered in the Pegasus Galaxy by Stargate Command, Dr. Elizabeth Weir and Major Sheppard lead a scientific expedition to the ancient abandoned city. The series stars Amy Price-Francis as Jessica King, a veteran police officer who gets promoted to head of the Major Crimes Task Force in Toronto after her predecessor has a breakdown on television. Season 2 began production in September 2011 and premiered 29 February 2012. On June 2, 2012, it was reported that King had been cancelled after 2 seasons.

The International Oversight committee have their own plans and SG-1 finds themselves in a distant galaxy fighting two powerful enemies.

They live in a fictional town called Swedeville (which is based on Sweden, but with 80% American and Canadian culture) and spend their days at school, clubs and convenience stores, but they have to deal with their biggest enemies — The Bulldogs (Brady, Boomer, Buster and Bill), cube-like bully dogs who pick on the three cat friends nearly every day. When Louie, Chris and Andy get together on screen, their lives are always risky and life changing.
