This spooky anthology series for kids recounts ghost stories told by the young members of the Midnight Society as they gather around a campfire. Each episode opens with members of the Midnight Society at their secret spot in the woods, where they prepare their fire and the night's storyteller announces the title of the his or her offering. However, the cameras soon leave the storyteller and switch to the tale being told.

Up until 2008, on most occasions for the remainder of the morning Disney shows would continue to air on Seven after Saturday Disney. As of 31 March 2012, Saturday Disney airs on 7TWO. Saturday Disney was originally filmed at BTQ-7 from 1990 until 1999 when it moved to Seven's Sydney station, ATN-7. On 5 September 2009, the show celebrated its 1,000th episode. Saturday Disney celebrated 20 years on air in 2010.

It was famous for a relatively large and elaborate maze/obstacle course that was part of the show's studio set. A*mazing was hosted by James Sherry for the entire run of the series. A*mazing was produced at Channel 7 Brisbane from 1993-1996 and then at Channel 7 Perth from 1997-1998.
