Grigorios Xenopoulos

A gruff highlander leaves his village and heads to the town and harbor where he will embark for Australia. We follow his descent to the sea through three stories

Polyxeni becomes enraged when she finds her husband flirting with their maid. After dismissing the girl, she leaves her husband and goes to live at her parents' house. There, however, by chance, her former maid comes to work as a domestic helper. Polyxeni's father, brother, son-in-law, a naval officer, and two of his sailors fall in love with the maid, leading to misunderstandings and comical situations.

Fiore di Levante, Zakynthos, in 1883. A young lady of noble rank, Foteini Santri, lives a carefree life with her younger brother Mimis. The arrival of her first cousin, forty-year-old Angelos Marinis, who has come to the island on vacation, puts an end to her carefree existeness and fills her with troubles and worries. Angelos falls passionately in love with her, but she doesn’t respond to his feelings, since they are related. Angelos, disappointed, returns to Athens...

Christina and Chrysoula are two teenage friends in Zakynthos and they are completely different as characters. Christina is ugly but honest, while Chrysoula is beautiful, but scandalizes the neighborhood with her provocative behavior. First fully sound-synchronized Greek motion picture. The film was shot in Constantinople by the director of the National Turkish Theatre, Muhsin Ertugrul with a script by Grigorios Xenopoulos, based on his novel by the same name. It was shown as one of the first contemporary Greek films to include full sound and conversation.

Two young people from Zakynthos have to deal with difficult situations due to the attitudes of the local community. In the end, they will manage to live happily ever after.
