Prafulla is beautiful and righteous but is mistreated by her in laws because of her poverty. Prafulla comes to a fortune by chance and is guided by Bhabani Pathak, a nationalistic religious leader to use this fortune in the cause of justice. She is trained rigorously and becomes a bandit queen wrapped in mystery and even fights back Colonial British forces to safeguard villagers.She becomes the legendary Debi Chowdhurani. Gradually incidents take such a turn that her erstwhile tormentors, i.e. her in laws come under her power and the movie ends with reconciliation.

Sadhana was based on the novel ‘Chhinapatra’ by Ashapoorna Devi. The film was adjudged as 2nd Best Regional Film (Odia) and received President’s Silver Medal. Actor Sarat Pujari was co-producer of Sadhana. He also written dialogues under the pseudo name Shiladitya, assisted by Minati Mishra.
This story concerns an honest police officer Amit Sen and his wife Seema. Seema has to kill a smuggler, Changez in self-defence, but she cannot tell anything to Amit. Changez's boss Shamsher Singh harasses her for the diamonds that Changez has accidentally dropped in her house, but she has no clue about. In due course, Seema is arrested. Finally, Amit catches Shamsher Singh and proves Seema's innocence in court.

He meets Mala and asks her to forgive Raja. Raja once again regains Mala's love and the film ends on a happy note.
The story of Dr. Mukherjee, a highly respected civil surgeon in a small tribal district headquarters. He is the beloved of the local people, and often comes in conflict with Laxman Lal, the tyrannical son of a local aristocrat. Sata Bose, the receptionist of hotel Shahjahan and other crew members work hard to make the hotel first choice of the upper class for socializing in the city, just got the taste of freedom from British rule. The movie revolves around different characters - hotel employees to page 3 personalities dealing different human emotions. Although Sata Bose (played by Uttam Kumar) is the central character of the film, he is not the protagonist in many ways, rather the movie can be described as "hyperlink movie" made long ago than the term is coined.
