A gang of friends lose their club house and collect money for a new one by singing in public.
Calle Lundgren is a shop assistant and spends most days as errand boy for Nisse and flirting with the ladies, especially a girl called Amanda. One day Calle read in the newspaper that he is the sole heir to a Swedish American millionaire who has just died.
"How crazy!" A man and a woman watch episodes from Nils Poppe movies outside a cinema Maxim in Stockholm. Poppe represents, among other things, a poor composer who vainly tries to get a tune adopted by a publisher. The failure makes him depressed, but he is living it up by meeting a good friend Calle, who invites him home. Poppe stays for a few days as a male housewife. Calle has a music store and there the two friends can go crazy among all the instruments.
Tailor Vipperup in Ebberöd has problems with liquidity: customers are bad at paying for his services while his own creditors are all the more intrusive. His consolation in life consists of his daughter Ellen and the faithful companion Tadeus. However, the repulsive trader Klemmensen, the town's richest man and most ruthless usurer, casts more and more lustful glances at Ellen.
At a restaurant, the coats of flea expert Professor Loris and Lieutenant Juncker are mixee up. Thus Juncker finds the professor's notes for the next day, and makes a bet with his cronies that he should be able to carry out the professor's daily program without being exposed.

Bank director Ryder suggests that secret forces want to stop this loan. Ted Harris, an American rogue, wants to sell secret papers from Wall Street on plots against Kreuger. The French minister and an international Soviet agent, Brody, also visit Kreuger regarding the loans. Kreuger shares are dropping around the world. The firm Nathan and Kohn contributes to dumping Kreuger shares after a bribe of SEK 25,000. Ordinary savers are ruined.

Lisa Larsson, dancer at a theater, witnesses a traffic accident and banker Brenner's private driver asks her to be a witness. When her friends see her talk to the driver, they start to believe that she is Brenner's fiancée. The manager of the theater, Gravander, gives her the leading part in his latest show, in order to befriend Brenner. Von Meislingen steals his latest work from him and publishes it under his own name. 'His' poems becomes a success and Von Meislingen becomes regarded as one of the greatest living poets.
