The New Fred and Barney Show is a 30-minute Saturday morning cartoon produced by Hanna-Barbera as a 1979 series revival of The Flintstones from February 3 to October 20, 1979 on NBC. The series marked the first time Henry Corden performed the voice of Fred Flintstone for a regular series. These new episodes were composed of the traditional Flintstones cast of characters such as Fred and Barney's children Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm as toddlers, after having been depicted as teenagers on The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show on CBS in 1972; they returned to the form of teenagers on The Flintstone Comedy Show in 1980 on NBC. Some plots were familiar Flintstones stories while others consisted of new misadventures with witches and werewolves, as well as spoofs of late 1970s fads. Seven new episodes combined with reruns of The New Fred and Barney Show were broadcast on the package program Fred and Barney Meet the Thing and later on Fred and Barney Meet the Shmoo.

This is a story involving balloonist Phinny Fogg. He and reporter teenagers Jenny and Hoppy set out on a globetrotting adventure to travel around the world in 79 days and beat the original record set by Phinny's father. The trio are in competition for both the record and a £1,000,000 prize against the sinister Crumden. Crumden is aided by his idiotic chauffeur Bumbler and his pet monkey Smirky.

Tom joins his owner on a hunting safari in Kenya. Jerry has hidden himself in the Clint's luggage, and Tom quickly sees him and attempts to get rid of him.

Herman, with bad-intentions, puts Katnip through a muscle-building course which consists of weight-lifting, bar-chinning and equipment rigged with high explosives.

Little Audrey, while fishing, falls to the bottom of the sea, where she encounters all types of sea-life and then is arrested by the local fish-constable. She is tried by a jury of sardines who find her guilty, and she is sentenced to the 'eelectric chair." She makes an escape attempt, and wakes up to find it has all been a dream. She has a nibble on her fishing line and reels in a small fish, which she quickly returns to the water.

Popeye is Robin Hood; he's got a sidekick, Little John. Bluto is the tax collector, and Olive is the owner/barmaid at the local pub. Bluto comes to the pub to collect taxes and falls for Olive.

Casper tries to pass as a human child so they can trick or treat, but their ghost roommates keep haunting every person Casper tries to obtain candy from. Casper then runs into some poor, costume-less orphans who accept Casper as a ghost.

On a snowy night in the city, Jerry is comfortably asleep in his hole inside a penthouse, while Tom tries to keep from freezing to death in the alley below.

Gaston Le Crayon is a French (kind of beatnik-looking) artist who brings his artwork to life. He's doing a famous painting to be. Movie director Alfred Fitchcock moves in next door. Fitchcock is making a movie about a man stranded in the frozen Arctic. Gaston takes it seriously. He paints a toaster, stuffs the freezing man in it, and pops him out like a piece of toast. Gaston thinks that he's doing a good deed. Fitchcock is furious.

Mild-and-meek Casper, the Friendly Ghost, is depressed and glum because people will have nothing to do with him despite the fact that he has read "How To Win Friends, and Influence People".

Popeye and Olive are on an African safari, he with a rifle, she with a camera. Olive happens across a Tarzan-like man (Bluto), and she and he are immediately smitten with one another. Popeye catches wind of this and isn't about to stand for the jungle hunk muscling in on his girl. Let the fighting and one-upmanship begin.

While chasing Jerry around a dock, Tom sees and instantly falls in love with a female cat. The female cat appears to return Tom's interest, so Tom sneaks aboard the ship the female cat and her owner have just boarded. Jerry follows Tom onto the boat and proceeds to interfere with Tom's subsequent flirtations.

George Washington wants to cross the Delaware, but he has no boats. Hector's in the business of renting boats, but they all seem to have problems.

While changing a flat tire, the Pink Panther loses his spare tire and chases after it.

Through a stray dog's mishaps, the stray gets mixed up with people who aren't really paying attention. He starts out as a shoe shine boy, then ends becoming the president of the GALLAGER and Foofer Frankfurter Co.

The Junker, whose base of operations is beneath a junk yard in Good Haven, creates robots that "eat" metal. The Junker's robots consume cars, bridges and other structures. The Mighty Heroes attempt to contain the damage and eventually follow the robots back to the Junker's lair. But the villain traps the heroes inside a metal container, which he then crushes. Now, the Junker sicks his robots, saying they're free to consumer a "hero sandwich." But the heroes prevail, destroying the robots and capturing the Junker.
