This farce cocerns Sweden's King Gustav (Per Oscarsson who plays all the lead roles). The royal monarchs of three major European countries are patiently or not-so-patiently hovering on the sidelines while watching the future King Gustav closely. No single king appears to possess the brains he was born with, so history seems to be made by default, as it were. Gustav does blunder around, but not enough to miss being crowned king. As a result, France, England, and Germany invade Sweden hoping to take by force what they could not gain by incompetence.
Mini-series done in the style of a docudrama, which transports the Israel-Palestine conflict to the Swedish province of SmĂĄland.

On a tourist trip abroad the passengers on the coach witness an assassination attempt on the President Hurkas. One of the tourists has evidence against the perpetrators, and is killed when the coach reaches Sweden. Another passenger observes how one of the perpetrators is picked up by a yellow car. She is kidnapped and locked up in a mental hospital.
For several decades, Dirch Passer was by far the most popular Danish revue and film comedian. He had enormous popular appeal, which did not diminish as a result of his untimely death at the age of just 54. Dirch Passer appeared in around 100 films in just under 30 years and was one of the country's most prolific actors. In 1974, he even received a BODIL award for best leading role in "Mig og mafiaen" (Me and the Mafia). Another World Entertainment presents "BlĂĄjakkerne" on Danish DVD for the first time. The film, which came about as a result of a collaboration between the great comedian and Swedish director Arne Mattson, is typical Dirch Passer entertainment, in which Denmark's happy man travels to its northern neighbor and becomes entangled in a myriad of cheerful episodes. If you like Danish folk comedy, you can't go wrong with "BlĂĄjakkerne."
