​From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.   Stuart Paton (23 July 1883 – 16 December 1944) was a British director, screenwriter and actor of the silent era. He directed 67 films between 1915 and 1938. He also wrote for 24 films between 1914 and 1927. Despite a sizable list of credits, Paton was never well-regarded, especially as a director. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. His remains are buried at Chapel of the Pines Crematory. Inventor George Grant and his partner, financier John Benson, accept an offer of $200,000 for the rights to an invention. After Grant breaks up a fight in a bar between drunken Dave Wilson and an old man reprimanding him, Dave is told by his mother to apologize to Grant. He meets Benson, who witnessed the fight, outside Grant's apartment and tells him his purpose, but during Dave's conversation with Grant, Grant suddenly drops dead. The police find Dave hiding, and after a pistol is found outside and Benson tells them about the fight but says he knew nothing about Dave's apology, Dave is convicted of murder and electrocuted.

Through his friendship with Raoul McGuire, one of the suspects, Jerry is accepted as a member of the gang. Mickey is in love with Raoul's sister, Molly. Gang leader Moran shoots and wounds Raoul, and is himself shot down by Jerry. Mickey flies Molly and her wounded brother to a hospital. Jerry takes off in another plane to guard Mickey's craft from a pursuing airplane, and crashes his plane into the gangster's plane but parachutes to safety.
