An expansive Russian drama, this film focuses on the life of revered religious icon painter Andrei Rublev. On 20th of April 1945 the Soviet army launches its attack on Berlin. The end has come for Nazi Germany and Hitler decides to commit suicide. In Prague K.H. Frank (Nazi Secretary of State and Chief of police in the Protectorate of Bohemia a Moravia) discusses with his commanders how to transform the city into an impregnable fortress, but the Praguers do not intend to wait any longer. From the early hours of 4th of May people start assembling in the streets and tearing down German signs. On the next day, the 5th of May, the uprising begins.

By the will of the film's creators, the viewer gets to the rehearsals of an unusual choir and gets acquainted with the stories of the singers - diverse, but invariably amusing.

In 1932, thousands of Komsomol members set off for the Far East to build the "city of youth" — Komsomolsk-on-Amur. Among the builders is a saboteur. Soon, fuel depots explode at the new factories in Komsomolsk.

The driver Karpukhin came under investigation because of a tragic accident, as a result of which a person died. The young investigator, believing Karpukhin, undertook to defend the defendant, but at some point yielded to someone else's opinion, after which the accused had to prove his innocence himself...

Agronomist Valya Chernysheva fell in love with the new chief agronomist of the MTS Savitsky, a widower with two small daughters. During the illness of one of the daughters, whom Valya was nursing, he realized that she had become a close person for him. But the girl left to work in another distant collective farm.

The invaders are leaving the northern town of the young Soviet republic. The brave underground activist Alexei Ilyutinsky infiltrates a musical troupe organized to entertain the White Army command and boost the morale of the population. The new horn player, who has no musical ear whatsoever, passes on the White Army's defense plan to the Reds and saves Bolshevik Makeev, the former chairman of the provincial executive committee, from being shot.

The end of August 1941. At night, a truck rushes along the last road not yet occupied by the enemy to Leningrad. In the back of two — civil aviation pilot Lunin and commissar of the air division Uvarov. Lunin, a man no longer young, experienced, but had not yet been in battle, was sent to the legendary squadron of fighter pilots under the command of Captain Rassokhin. This squadron fought from the first day of the war and has already lost most of its composition.
