The series is named after a small part of Saltsjöbaden called Solsidan. It revolves around Alex and Anna who are expecting their first child and have just moved to Alex's childhood home in Saltsjöbaden, Stockholm County. Alex tries to get Anna to enjoy herself, and at the same time spend time with his childhood friend Fredde.

Holger Nilsson is forced on a raging treasure hunt to find the seven keys to his world-famous relative Mary Diana Graaf's mythical laboratory. To help him, he has the inventor Mortensen and Mary Diana's GPS computer with pre-recorded riddles and clues written in verse. But what kind of mysterious and malevolent figure lurks in the background?

Per is the ambitious outsider at school, who discovers friends for life through the power of music as he finds MP, Micke, Anders and Göran. Despite hardships, the band goes on to break through in the early 80s, where their hit songs about life in a small town made them a nationwide sensation.

The story takes place in the 50's. A 13-year old boy, who has never seen a naked woman, collects pictures of pin up girls. One of his pictures is that of a naked blonde woman holding a guitar that is covering her private parts. One day a woman that resembles the girl in the picture moves in to the neighbourhood. Could it be the same blonde?
