Fátima

An anachronistic public access TV channel plays host to a self-help guru with one goal — to scare viewers out of whatever addiction may be plaguing them. Using his trademarked "Eight Step Action Plan," he covers topics ranging from sex to gluttony, each of them glitching into a terrifying tale of addiction gone wrong. Eight international directors take on these stories, presenting horrifying shorts focused on the darkest and most surreal side of addiction.
I Am an Addict

The entire project examines three interconnected extractivist processes in that area of southeastern Spain: mining in La Unión, construction in La Manga, and agroindustry in the Mar Menor. This short film was scripted as a spiral, revisiting the same three locations in three rounds. It overlaps archival materials with new recordings, aiming to approach the territory as a stratified archival ground – a form of storytelling conveyed by the land and water themselves. The archival materials are treated as compacted strata, whose grain and texture offer the possibility of excavating the trauma inscribed in the territory.
Environmelisma

A meditation on the human form and its many representations over the centuries, this archaeological essay compiles images of statues, photos, sketches, and news clippings from Portugal’s Jose de Guimarães International Arts Centre. The filmmakers conjure a slipstream of interrelated origin stories via brief bits of narration and tableaux of various animal and mineral elements.
