Vincent is preparing his new exhibition centered on the evocation of unglamorous moments of his past. He is surrounded by a small team which includes Erika, his companion and Michael, a director friend.

An ad-hoc orchestra treks through the woods, strolling and drinking, to the 'Carnaval du Monde' in Stavelot. The drunken procession appeals to them so much that they forget house and home. Like medieval wandering scholars, they travel from fair to village fête. Then their leader says he’ll stop taking drink and drugs. What next?
