In the small town of Fjordnæs, former accountant Carl Frank lives with his family. He is a sick and broken man who has just finished a prison sentence for fraud. His financial affairs are in an extremely sad state, and he has no chance of getting a job. Frank decides to commit suicide and leaves the house with his revolver. Detective Bloch is called in from Copenhagen when Frank's revolver is found with a young horticultural worker.

In a small street on the outskirts of town, there are two small shops next to each other: Nummesen's herbalist's shop and Mikkelsen's plumber's shop. So the stage is set for lots of fun and games, in the right old style.

Architect Poul Friis Henriksen falls in love with Norwegian Gerd. Unfortunately, she is already engaged to the doctor Arne Lorentzen, whose former wife died of an overdose under mysterious circumstances. Gerd invites Poul to a party at her home, where he accidentally sees her secretly taking a syringe. This makes Poul suspect that Arne is anything but the perfect husband. He sets out to investigate the matter further.

Wholesaler Pettersson ends up in the military after being mixed up with a soldier on the run, who has stolen his identity.

Our bandit story takes place in the good old days, when strife, war, and lawlessness were the order of the day—a time quite unlike our own. The poor tailor of Ebberöd is visited by his American cousin, John Andrews. He brings a bag, and the local gossip has it that he has brought 20 million with him. The tailor, the miller and a rich widow decides to open a bank. The business is excellent - they lend out money at 4 percent interest rate but gives 8 percent on the savings accounts.

The story is built around the "Charles' Aunt" theme and is wonderfully festive. In a large villa in Ordrup live manufacturer Nelsøe, his wife and their young daughter Else. Else has been let down by her sweetheart, so Else is in crisis. So mother and father hire a young girl of the same age in the house "with a family position" to get Else in a better mood. The girl who moves in is a priest's daughter from Mols and the two girls quickly become good friends. But suddenly it turns out that Grethe from Mols has some very cool friends...

Three simple-minded fisherman brothers enjoy life. They get help from the young girl Sus, who manages the house and helps on the fishing boat. When the brothers get a good offer to borrow money for a hotel, they immediately take it. However, there is the shady contractor Gravenkop from whom they borrow the money. At the same time, people are smuggling into the city; cheap booze is in circulation. Sus, together with his friend Stille, tries to solve the crime.

Svend come back after a year of travel as a mate. Inger and Svend's father has been waiting him with longing. Conversely, Svends brother Thorsten, jealousy at Svend. During a duck hunt the local land owner Brandt has told his ranger and his son to sit in a boat and collect ducks as they are shot down. When Brandt's dog gets in the water he commands the ranger's son to jump in the water to save the dog but the boy drowns.
