When Bernhard finds out that he owes his chance to develop new technology, which led to his career advancement, to his girlfriend’s father, he is upset …

The film shows the colorful life and hustle and bustle at the Viktualienmarkt in the heart of Munich. The day begins with the ringing of the city's many bell towers. The market is still quiet, but quickly becomes busy. The deliveries arrive and the traders begin to put away their goods. The rich offer ranges from baked goods, fruit, vegetables, fish and meat to flowers, handicrafts and delicatessen - the colorful market bustle begins. Individual small events and, above all, the people are observed. At 6 o'clock in the evening, it's time for the big clean-up before it starts all over again the next day.
