Interview film with the protagonists of the New German Cinema in 1966.

Daniel accidentally witnesses a kidnapping on the street. After his report to the police didn't get the attention he had hoped for, he looks for an explanation himself and gets more and more entangled in doubts about his surroundings and his own actions. Through his commitment, he finds himself increasingly exposed to violence and eventually kills a person. During the interrogation by the public prosecutor, he experiences the purgatory of his awakening.

The film begins with eight-year-old Marcel waking up after his father has run away and his mother is spending the night with her boyfriend. The boy makes his own breakfast and feeds the rabbit that is camping in the old cot. A child left alone in a world they trust.

The short feature film is about the friendship between two 10-year-old boys, Andreas and Bernd. It is initially endangered by the appearance of a third, Philipp. However, a self-critical attitude and a mutual willingness to reconcile maintain and eventually strengthen the togetherness.
