Chen Chuan (Francis Ng) is a simple man who seems to be cursed with bad luck all the time. Convinced by a blind fortune teller that he must eliminate the "villain" that is bringing him the ills, Chen vows to kill the person responsible for his misfortunes. As the first Chinese action film to focus on racing, "Racer Legend" tells the tale of three racers played by Shawn Dou, Shin and Wang Bojie, who all belongs to the same team of racers. Eric Tsang portrays the coach of the team. The famous singer Shin, who makes his film debut in this film, sang the theme song of the film at the press conference. Eric Tsang, the supervisor who also acts in the film, revealed on the set that Shawn has grown up to be mature actor, having developed his acting skills since he was the young actor who played in "Under the Hawthorn Tree".

The true story of a band of laid-off workers from state-owned companies who set out to risk their own fortunes in the private sector and then find out that success ain't what it used to be. After getting laid-off from a state-owned shipbuilder, a middle-aged worker uses all of his savings, borrows some money, and then convinces a group of friends who are in similar circumstances, to join him in an apartment decoration/construction business in Shanghai.

Another curve ball from the Beijing 'underground', Guangli Wang's debut feature first tells a story and then wittily deconstructs it. Painter Jinian, undergoing eye surgery for wounds received in a bar fight, remembers or imagines his relationships with student journalist Xue and her lesbian lover Yu. On recovering, he sets about trying to write and direct a film about the three of them. His meetings with potential producers, actors and technicians eventually get the project moving, but not quite as he foresaw it.
