The events revolve around Officer Mo'taz who is assigned to investigate sudden frequent fire cases at a local neighborhood. There, he quarrels with the sorcerer Shams, after which his life goes from bad to worse.

Hussein, a shy young man, is desperately in love with Samiha. However, Samiha is more interested in her singing and dancing cousin Lucy. Admiring Hussein greatly, Samiha's father attempts to help him and starts spreading the rumor that Hussein is having an affair with famous actress Hind Rostom, hoping jealousy will move the daughter's heart. The plan seems to work... until Hind Rostom herself comes to town.

Mahmoud, a simple employee of the Ministry of Health, loves lawyer "Amal", who trains in the office of her teacher, "Ali Hammad", Mahmoud "travels" to Kuwait to improve his financial situation. Her wealthy professor escapes chasing her cousin, Fathi officer, Mahmoud settles in Cairo after returning from abroad and renews his hope to marry Amal after her husband's death. Drug dealer Rushdi Abdel Rahman meets by chance the peasant Salma, who flees her town because her stepson is trying to kill her because she caused her husband to go to prison by testifying against him.

The life story of the artist Badia Masabni, from her childhood, through her rape in her hometown in Lebanon, her migration to Egypt, her work as a dancer, her marriage to Najib Al-Rihani, her work as an actress, their divorce, the withholding of taxes on her theater, her selling of the theater to the dancer Biba, her escape with her money to Lebanon, her birthplace, and her death alone.
