Follows the decadence of an incestuous oligarch family in a rural Brazilian household through the years during the early 20th century.

Zezé is an eight-year-old boy who lives with his grandmother and suffers the drama of not having known his father. Amanda, Zezé's mother, is a beautiful but disillusioned young woman.
