America at the end of the 19th century: news spreads like wildfire that gold has been found in the Klondike. Half of America is in an uproar. Among the adventurers is the young lawyer Elam Harnish from San Francisco. Over the next few months, he experiences unique adventures with the hard search for gold, the merciless nature and the shrewd stock market sharks of the big city...

The administrator of a huge apartment block in Bucharest, a former great Communist Party activist, now in disgrace, eliminated from politics and perched at the head of a tenants' association, through methods he used in his former political positions - blackmail and anonymous letters - a sex obsessed man, ends up terrorizing honest people, people who are looking for justice. Will they find it?

Depicts Romania during World War II, focusing on the Royal Coup that toppled Ion Antonescu, the Axis-allied Conducător and authoritarian Prime Minister. Focused around the August 23rd 1944 coup against Marshal Antonescu, the movie also tackles other topics from the same era such as the Iron Guard rebellion and the execution of political leaders by communists.

In the history of Romanian cinema, Sergiu Nicolaescu's name stands for "prolific, highly commercial and professional". At the age of 80, the director launched his latest production, which is also his second comedy in a long row of action and historic films. "Poker" is a cinema adaptation of Adrian Lustig's theatre play with the same name, and focuses on four male friends, representatives for the social canvas: a doctor without a moral conscience, an unscrupulous politician, a chief of the local mafia, and a businessman who made a fortune in America. Made by MediaPro Pictures, 'Poker' looks at immorality and intrigues in politics, hinting at the fact that contemporary Romania is a day to day jungle where strings are pulled by those in power, so everything turns into a poker round, where those who have the right aces in their sleeve can win.

For years, the carpenter Tillmann Rutenschneider has moved around. In 1932, at the age of thirty, he returns to his village in the Mark Brandenburg with a foreign wife. He builds a house and starts a family. It wasn't long before he became a victim of the new racial laws. His house is set on fire, his wife and child burn to death in the flames. He himself is sent to a concentration camp. After liberation, he returned to his home village, started a new family and built a new house. He joins forces with resettlers to form a cooperative, enforcing the land reform in his very own way. Tillmann falls into debt, gets into trouble and ends up in prison. He has to sell his house to pay off his debts. Released from prison, Tillmann Rutenschneider makes his way back to his village.

In summer 1975 at the Constanța Shipyard, director Mihai Coman pushes to cast a massive ship propeller in-house, facing technical failures, internal resistance, and political hesitation. As the casting repeatedly breaks and deadlines loom, he must overcome engineering hurdles and personal sacrifices to see the vessel launched with the home-forged propeller.

A prosecutor, policemen and teacher take the students Vuica and Nicu to a restaurant to re-enact their drunken brawl there, and have it filmed to show the effects of alcoholism.

After WWII Comisarul Moldovan spent years as a political prisoner of the communist regime. The favorite entertainment of the Russian Colonel in charge of the prison was to have the inmates play Russian Roulette. Only his unbelievable luck and survivor spirit helped Moldovan live through his detention. Out of the prison the ex-policeman joins an international Russian Roulette illegal gaming circuit. In late 70's faith brings him to a Central European town where Goldberg, an old acquaintance of his is organizing an "improved" version of the game where two opponents are shooting each other. Step by step Moldovan meets lots of familiar faces, both friends and enemies. It looks like the whole Bucharest's underworld from the 40's chose to meet here.

Three young man run in the rain with a borrowed car. The first accident, whose victim is a girl, gives the signal for a race through the city to escape the police crews. Race ends tragically, with another serious incident, even one victim is involved. The only way out is escape. The film shows the psychological transformation of fugitives, in their desperate attempt to evade the consequences and pressures of their conscience.

At a swanky hotel in a Black Sea resort, Gogu, one of the hotel employees, meets his uncle Marin, an Oltenian peasant who has come to visit. Gogu says he can sneak Marin into the hotel, as one of the rooms is empty awaiting the arrival of an American billionaire, Mr. Juvett. Marin is amazed by the revealing clothing worn by women at the resort, while the hotel guests are fascinated by his quaint peasant costume. In the hotel room, Marin is perplexed by the various gadgets. Meanwhile, the gangsters learn that Juvett has arrived at the hotel. Juvett is the father of the kidnapped girl, and is coming to pass over a million dollar ransom. A rival gang, who know about the kidnapping, plan to take the ransom for themselves. They follow Marin, believing him to be Juvett.

Andrei is the head of a political party, a member of parliament and, at the same time, a prosperous businessman. He stopped being young a good number of years ago, but his love affair with the beautiful dancer Ana gives him the feeling of a second youth. On their way back from a mountain getaway, Andrei's car causes an accident, killing one man and injuring another. The victims were all former colleagues of Ana's band, and the deceased was Ana's boyfriend. The investigation into the cause of the accident and especially the statements of the survivor incriminate Andrei.

Young lawyer Radu Comșa is confronted with an identity crisis as WWI starts.

In 1916, shortly before Romania's entry in World War One Romanian Army Lieutenant Tudor Gheorghiu is posted to a border patrol unit on Romania's border with Austria-Hungary. Not receiving any news from his wife he persuades the commanding officer, Captain Dimiu, to allow him a short leave to visit his wife. Tudor married Lena two years before but was very jealous and suspected her of infidelity. When his grandfather dies Tudor inherits most of the fortune. Gigolo lawyer Andrei Nicolau is the executor of the will. He also is the man who lustfully desires Tudor's beautiful wife. A contest for Lena's love begins. Romania is plunged into WW1 and ironically Tudor receives his junior Lieutenant commission in the same regiment where gigolo lawyer Nicolau serves as a Major. Their destinies seem intertwined.

In 1877 during the Russo-Turkish war the Kingdom of Romania joins the war on Russia's side and declares its independence from the Ottoman Empire.

In August 1944, students at the military school for officers must defend the country's border from the Nazis during the Battle of Păuliș in Romania's northwestern border.

Two Americans brothers, Rusty and Mike, travel to Romania after Rusty inherits their recently deceased uncle's yacht. Once there, they find out their yacht wasn't what they expected but instead is just a rusty old fishing boat. While performing maintenance on the ship to salvage their trip, they discover their uncle's old diary mentioning the loss of his boat, "Chancellor". Upon further investigation, they find out that the Chancellor is a sunken German war ship that carried millions in Nazi Gold. Together with Gabby, their translator turned friend, they race against time to find their uncle's lost treasure before it reaches the wrong hands. What they didn't know was that Gabby's Uncle Hunts had more involvement in searching for the treasure than they could have imagined.

Being forced into prostitution by her father, she finds solace in her friends and her journal.

A gang falsifies college degrees and sells them. They also help their careers, so that later they can blackmail them to obtain industrial espionage.

An young agronomist insists to start using a new corn variety, but the collective farm chief is against it.
