1968 and 1969 in Paris: during and after the student and trade union revolt. François is 20, a poet, dodging military service. He takes to the barricades, but won't throw a Molotov cocktail at the police. He smokes opium and talks about revolution with his friend, Antoine, who has an inheritance and a flat where François can stay. François meets Lilie, a sculptor who works at a foundry to support herself. They fall in love. A year passes; François continues to write, talk, smoke, and be with Lilie. Opportunities come to Lilie: what will she and François do?

Sunil Pratham, aka Sun, is a 30-year-old delivery boy of Indian descent. He leads a hectic life in today's Paris, but everything threatens to stop the day his Chinese employers put an end to their illegal activities. To continue working, Sun decides to set up a real courier company. His plan was quickly complicated by the unexpected arrival of his cousin, a sitar player who had come to Paris for a career, and to whom Sun had to promise a concert at the Olympia. Caught in his lies, Sun will therefore find it very difficult to invent a future ...

On a day in early summer, two young men play squash, a lifeguard watches an indoor pool, a young woman shelves books at a store, another stages a puppet show for children in a park, an older woman cooks, and Manon gets on her bicycle to ride to a rendezvous with her boyfriend. She turns a corner. Something happens. As she lies on the asphalt, a crowd gathers around her and an ambulance arrives; we hear her voice, first confused as to what has happened, then telling us how her friends and her mother will receive word, and how her friends will gather to talk. As images move back and forth in time, she remembers recent events and expresses some small regrets.
