Robben Ford

Late Night with David Letterman is a nightly hour-long comedy talk show on NBC that was created and hosted by David Letterman. It premiered in 1982 as the first incarnation of the Late Night franchise and went off the air in 1993, after Letterman left NBC and moved to Late Show on CBS. Late Night with Conan O'Brien then filled the time slot. As of March 2, 2009, the slot has been filled by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. It will be filled by Seth Meyers in the spring of 2014, after Fallon becomes host of The Tonight Show.

American Robben Ford started out playing jazz saxophone because he admired Paul Desmond. But he soon swapped this instrument for an electric guitar. A few years later, Musician magazine named him one of the 100 best guitarists of the 20th century. Big names in jazz, rock and pop, including Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Witherspoon, Miles Davis, Bill Evans and Bob Dylan, asked him to join their bands.

This New Morning concert in July, 2009 captures Robben Ford's genius in a truly unprecedented manner. Backed by drummer Toss Panos and bassist Travis Carlton, Robben's unique style asserts itself above and beyond his rock, jazz, fusion and blues influences.

25 years of challanges and gambles won - a sheer eternity for a jazz club - have made of the New Morning a cult institution, much like the Blue Note and the Village Vanguard in New York. The birthday took place in December 2006.

In late 2006, the New Morning presented an incredible meeting of legendary blues players specially flown in from Nashville & Tokyo, to live it up in Paris. As the climax of the club's 25th Anniversary Festival - and a birthday gift from the musicians - this Franco-American guitar summit brought together for the first time the members of Autour du Blues (the cream of France's top studio musicians) and two of America's most brilliant guitar heroes, Larry Carlton and Robben Ford. The show was a smash success with the people of Paris.

In 2024, Rhino released 'The Asylum Albums (1972–1975)' set in a multichannel version on their Quadio imprint - on Blu Ray discs instead of CDs - that has all four albums in newly-done Dolby Atmos mixes, as well as the original '70s quad mixes, and the recent new stereo remasters from the 2022 edition. 'Miles of Aisles' is the first live album by Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, released in 1974 on Asylum Records. It is a double album documenting her concerts in support of the Court and Spark album with her backing band for the tour, the L.A. Express. It reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and became one of her biggest-selling records, certified a gold record by the RIAA.

It all started in the bay area of San Francisco in the late sixties, when he was bitten by the bug . . . Robben Ford accompanied by the legendary bluesman Charley Musselwhite on guitar. Since those days, he hasn't shaken off the blues. However, he has always been keen on Jazz too - and he was one of the founding members of the successful fusion band "Yellowjackets". As well as this, his electrifying live performances with his band "The Blue Line" make Robben Ford of the most distinctive personalities in blues today.
