They quickly change their minds one night, when they find Prabhat dressed as a groom, getting ready to marry a reincarnated gypsy girl.

Widowed by the sudden passing of his wife, Superintendent of Police, Choudhry, brings up his son, Rajesh, on his own, teaches him all known good values, and when he grows up sends him to College in Bombay, and remits money to him regularly. Choudhry would like to transfer to Bombay Police, so that he can be close to his son, and then one day out of the blue, his transfer is approved, and a delighted Choudhry writes to his son to pick him from the railway station. Upon arrival in Bombay, he does not find his son at the Railway Station, but when browsing through a newspaper he sees his son's photograph - wanted for the murder of a card-sharp. Shocked and dismayed, Choudhry attempts to piece his life together and attempts to find Rajesh before the City Police do - for he may well face the death sentence. Choudhry does find him, but only after Rajesh is accused of killing a woman named Kishori, and this time Choudhry is quite sure that there is no hope for Rajesh.

After her return from abroad, Lali adjusts to life in India along with her devout Hindu mother, Laxmi; an easy-going father, Dinanath; two sisters, Kalpana and Geeta, and spends most of her time dancing along with her sisters and friends. About to inform his parents, Purchan does not know that Dinanath has actually instructed Lali not to see him anymore as he is a Harijan (Lower-Caste).

An estate manager discovers his employer dead and a mysterious woman unconscious after a car accident, and must collaborate with a police inspector to solve the mystery.

Bombay Police are baffled by a series of crimes - all at the hands of arch-criminal "Black Cat" who leaves his calling card at every scene of the crime. The Commissioner assigns this matter to this best plainclothes agent, Rajan. Rajan's investigations lead him to suspect Professor Gupta, who is also the brother of his girlfriend, Nita. Rajan decides to use Nita's love for him, and spies on Gupta. When Nita finds out, she is enraged at Rajan, and blames the police who she feels are covering-up their inefficiency by making a scape-goat of an innocent man. Rajan fails to prove that Gupta is somehow involved with "Black Cat", and the Commissioner gives him a deadline. If Rajan does not apprehend Black Cat within that deadline, he may be suspended or even dismissed from the police force. With no clues whatsoever as to the whereabouts of Black Cat and it's gang, Rajan has the challenge of his life, which he may not be able to fulfill.
