Biography
Gerbrand Bakker is a Dutch writer. He won the International Dublin Literary Award for 'The Twin', the English translation of his novel 'Boven is het stil', and the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize for 'The Detour', the English translation of his novel 'De omweg'. Both novels were translated by co-winner David Colmer.

It's All So Quiet

A documentary about the Dutch artist and award winning children’s author, Ted van Lieshout. He takes a risk. He is not only working on his first novel for adults, he additionally chose for a very controversial subject. In this novel “My Mister” an autobiographical story, he describes a radical and comprehensive event from his childhood, namely his relationship as a 10 year old boy, with a 29 year old man. During the production of “My Mister”, van Lieshout gives Arno Kranenborg the opportunity to come close during this laborious process and the discussions with family and friends.
