Vladimir Mikhailovich Petrov (Russian: Владимир Михайлович Петров, 22 July 1896 – 7 January 1966) was a Soviet and Russian film director, screenwriter and actor. He directed 24 films between 1928 and 1964. He was awarded Stalin Prize four times, and became a People's Artist of the USSR in 1950.
Known For

A 1949 two-part Soviet epic war film about the Battle of Stalingrad, directed by Vladimir Petrov. The script was written by Nikolai Virta.

Short propaganda film released to raise army morale during first months of war. Chapayev asks who are Soviets fighting off this time, hears that it's Germans once again and then gives an inspiring speech. He is played by Boris Babochkin who famously portrayed Chapayev in 1934 biopic.
