Biography
Giorgos born in 1960 Prosymna, Argolis. He studied chemistry and cinema (Stavrakos School) in Athens. He then went to Paris where he pursued post-graduate studies in cinema (Sorbonne, Paris 1) taught by Eric Rohner and Jean Rouce and creative video (Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratris-E.N.S.A.D) taught by Don Foresta. He now works now as a director-producer in films and television.

We often wonder what becomes of people who finish rehab and try to integrate back into society. Do they succeed? In this film, we meet several such cases – people who completed the 18 ANO drug rehabilitation program and have been drug free for a number of years. We observe them in their daily lives and listen to them talk about their efforts to find a job, to become creative, to go through with something they had left undone, to face the problems bequeathed to them by their drug use, to build new relationships with their parents and children, to make new friends and fall in love. If we choose nurture over nature, these people’s efforts are nothing more then the efforts we all make to get back on our feet after an inescapable misfortune

The documentary reflects on the phenomenon of addiction and the vocation of rehabilitation. It investigates the transition from the interwar coercive inhuman system of dealing with addictions to a human-centered, free, diverse therapeutic network of rehabilitation, established for decades in Greece: DETOX (IANOS), PETHEA "Argo, P.P.SELFHELP, 18ANO.
Where Do the Kids Fly?

This film will help to introduce rebetiko, a relatively unknown musical form outside of Greece, to an international audience. It includes musical and dance performances of rebetika songs, archival footage, and interviews with the friends, relatives and colleagues of Markos Vamvakaris. This documentary not only creates a vivid portrait of a man, but also presents us with a social and historical framework of Greece during the first 70 years of the 20th century.
