Atsushi Wada

A series of 16 "short stories" created by the creator's group Images Forum.

A Japanese-produced animated film using Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons as its soundtrack. The four seasons all have separate animation directors. Its production was partly crowdfunded. The film premiered in Kitakyushu in 2017 along with a live performance of the Four Seasons and this performance was recorded and distributed to supporters of the project.

The boys are rehearsing a dance for their traditional initiation ceremony into adulthood; their teacher instructs them. A girl observes the scene but is not allowed to join in. When one of the boys chases after a strange bird, she follows him without knowing why. One day, the boy will no longer be able to see the bird either.

Initially shown off at the "GeGeGe no Kitarou Tribute Art Exhibition Kitarou EXPO", which was an art exhibition in Japan commemorating the 100th anniversary of mangaka Shigeru Mizuki's birth. The animation directed by Atsushi Wada was later released publicly onto the Toei Animation Beyond YouTube Channel on March 12, 2024.

We try to enrich ourselves through prayer, faith and devotion to someone or something ‘other’. Similarly, we believe in the existence of ‘anomalies’, such as unknowable and uncontrollable monsters. But can such beliefs advance us?

If there is a fixed number of words that a person speaks within his/her lifetime, and if that number is controlled from somewhere by someone, then it would probably be like the story in this film.

A lot of wrong may happen, but no problem. A whistle, a bird, a stone, a human, they are gentle.

The animated short is meant to increase the entertainment value and number of new fans for American football in Japan.

How was this made? Why? For what purpose and using what materials? What is this anyway? There are lots of things we need to find out about.

Dear Mr. Vivaldi, I apologise for setting your music to animation without your permission. But I wanted to depict “autumn” in my own way with various animals. Thank you for understanding. Yours sincerely, AW.
