After many years in prison, Luca Sabatini returns to his home village in Abruzzo in 1946. At the same time, party official Andrea Cipriani, who had to leave Italy during the war but is now welcomed back as a hero, also arrives. Andrea is the son of Luca's best friend. Luca's conviction was the first traumatic experience of his life. He is therefore determined to solve the mystery of why Luca did not defend himself at all during his trial, despite his innocence.

In the late 1970s and early 80s, assassinations in Sicily get the attention of Communist deputy, Pio La Torre, who appeals to General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa to become prefect in Palermo and take on the Mafia. Dalla Chiesa approaches the job with the same focus and methods he used in hunting down the Red Brigade.

We follow the Journal reporter Paulo whose close friend mysteriously been taken out of the way and it's now up to Paulo to figure out who the culprits are. The film is set in a drug-scented and "swinging" Los Angeles, where orgies and violence seem to be commonplace, and it soon appears that Paulo is on someone's hit list.

The Russian women's basketball team faces to the American team for the championship of the world, in Rome. Upon arriving at the 'Eternal City', the Russian athletes find ways to evade the strict surveillance and meet some Italian guys. After many persecutions, the Russians are confined by their guardians under the promise that, if they win, they can stay and live in Italy. But as they conquer the championship, their guards forget the promises and put them on a plane to Moscow.

A short documentary on the production of rayon, filmed in the industrial town of Torviscosa in northeastern Italy. The film documents the transformation of raw materials into synthetic fabric, situating the manufacturing process within a town specifically constructed to serve the factory and its workforce.

An Italian Air Force officer is pursued and captured by the Allied police and is charged with the bombing of a hospital ship. Through the efforts of his sweetheart, a witness is found who proves the bombing was not intentional but the result of being hit by enemy fire. A four-way romantic involvement is also part of the mix that includes an Allied officer and Viennse beauty Lida. The latter was once in love with the accused and has a child by him.
