Alfred Robbins was born in Queens N.Y. He was raised on Long Island and graduated from the State University of New York - Old Westbury. Robbins enjoyed a career in the insurance industry prior to becoming a filmmaker. In 2008 his debut feature film "Grapes on a Vine" was nominated for Best Director - First Feature film at the 2008 Pan African Film Festival.
