Biography
Roberto Moreira is a brazilian filmmaker and screenwriter. He's also a professor at the School of Communication and Arts (ECA) of University of São Paulo. Moreira was awarded in the 1997 Brasilia Film Festival for the A Starry Sky screenplay, which he co-wrote with Jean-Claude Bernardet. His first feature film, Up Against Them All, has won multiple awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress (Sílvia Lourenço) at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival; Best Director, Best Actor (Giulio Lopes), Best Production Design and the Critic Prize at the Recife Cinema Festival; and the Silver Firebird at the Hong Kong International Film Festival.
Known For

The series is based on the award-winning Brazilian film City of God, which itself was nominated for Oscars in four categories, including Best Director for Fernando Meireles. Based on the story of two friends, Laranjinha and Acerola, who live adventurous and dangerous lives in a Rio de Janeiro slum, 'City of Men' brings into sharp relief the condition of children and adolescents in these areas, realistically yet with a dose of humor.

The series tells the story of two fifteen-year-old twin brothers, Pedro and Bianca, being white and black, which made them known in the region where they live. Pedro & Bianca shows the class C teenagers who recently entered the first year of high school, at the Piquerobi State School (Alberto Torres State School), a public school in São Paulo, and follows the daily lives of both at school, where they face common problems that teenagers experience.
