Mini series about the 1960s in Rio de Janeiro, when a politically engaged student falls in love with a left wing journalist's daughter who doesn't care for politics. The romance follows 15 years of Brazilian history, since President João Goulart deposition by military reactionary forces, until the first signs of restoration of democracy, in the 1980s.

The film deals with the process of globalization based on the thought of geographer Milton Santos, who through his ideas and practices, inspires the debate about Brazilian society and the construction of a new world. Santos discusses his views on the importance of respecting difference and his belief that an alternative globalisation model could wholly enfranchise all citizens of the world. An illustrious presence in 20th century social sciences, the man dubbed as ‘geography’s philosopher’ eloquently elucidates a developing world perspective on the global age.

The film, in partnership with Instituto Angelim and Caliban Cinema, tells the memories and stories of Lúcia Maria Pimentel, an activist who fought against the military dictatorship in Brazil from a young age. Committed to her country and her people, she was arrested, went underground and exiled, but returned to fight for redemocratization and social justice.
