Derrick was a German TV series produced by Telenova Film und Fernsehproduktion in association with ZDF, ORF and SRG between 1974 and 1998 about Detective Chief Inspector Stephan Derrick and his loyal assistant Inspector Harry Klein, who solve murder cases in Munich and surroundings.

It was a success in particular in Germany and in France. Originally the show was a German production in black-and-white but it evolved into a European co-production in colour.

Das Kriminalmuseum was a German television series. It ran from 1963 to 1970 on ZDF and was one of its first programs. Each episode began with a tracking shot through an unspecified crime museum, stopping at one of the displays, whose story was then told. Each episode was between 60 and 75 minutes long and featured different actors as the criminal commissioner. The best known was Erik Ode, who in 1969 moved to Der Kommissar, appearing in 97 episodes. Rico Moreno is trying to break the world record for continuous television in order to finance an illegal private broadcasting project on the high seas. His friend Banana helps him to endure 240 hours non-stop in front of the screen. He provides him with sandwiches, coffee, whisky, cigarettes, ice packs and movies that promise a little variety. But at the end of his record attempt, Rico only reacts to the 625 lines on the TV screen. His perception of the world around him has been extinguished, he is unresponsive and no longer communicates anything. The record succeeds, but where is Rico? He has flown away into another world, from where Banana and his girlfriend Bigi finally try to bring him back to life via the screen.
