The story of the film is based on real historical events. The most famous crimes from the mid-eighties of the last century to the present day have been used as the basis for the detective plots of the picture. The main character, Oleg Krainov, after serving in the army, comes to Moscow to enroll in the acting department at VGIK.

On June 27, 1942, a caravan of ships, codenamed PQ-17, left Reykjavik for Arkhangelsk. The route of the ships with cargo for Russia lay across the North Atlantic, where they were awaited by chilling winds, stormy seas and deadly attacks by German submarines and bombers.

She struggles to calm herself down hoping all this will end and they will live happily ever after. Only if she stays alive...

A young post-graduate from Minsk Anna Mazurkevich comes to her native village, where she hasnt been for 12 years, to stay in her grannys house. Here, in peace and quiet, she is intended to write a thesis. But suddenly two strangers come and claim that yesterday in Minsk the houses owner let out to them for two weeks, and to convince her they switch on TV-set, where Annas mother confirm their words and asks her to stay for a while with their neighbor ankle Gena. All this looks very strange because not very clear how they managed to organize live broadcast. Then absolutely inexplicable things start to happen. The strangers say that they have to go to the XVIII century to find a genius, living at that moment right here, and take him to the future.

The story is set during the World War II. Seven prisoners manage to escape from the penitentiary and hide in a small village forsaken of God and men. Soon after they respire, they face a new hardship - a German subversive group appears near the village. And as the fate decree, the former 'enemies' of the Motherland turn into its fierce defenders. War mutilates lives of millions of people, but sometimes it is the war that makes even the most thorough scoundrel in the world to remember that he is also a MAN.

The action is set in 1970 as the Soviet Union (and the entire progressive world) are preparing to celebrate Lenin's centenary. Not to be outdone, the camp commander decides to have the prisoners put on a play about Lenin's life. However, the ensuing preparations turn everything upside down and seem to offer a God-given chance to plot an escape.

The convict is then forced to undergo a tragic bid for freedom which ends with the beauty of swans contrasted with the imprisoned convicts and the hopeful but ultimately tragic wait by the woman for her lover.

Summer, 1944. A military airbase near the very front-line. A young soviet pilot Sergey makes his first practice flight. In the course of this flight he hears a call for help on the radio from Russian pilots, having an unequal air combat with superior forces of the enemy. Sergey rushes to their rescue. His plane gets shut down, and he is taken prisoner. Soon he is taken to a special flight school, where future German aces are prepared and Russian pilots at the wheel of captured Russian aircrafts are used as living targets. Nobody wants to put up with such situation, and they prepare an escape.
