Biography
Ralph Hammond Innes CBE was a celebrated English writer. In addition to 30 novels Innes also wrote children's works and travel books. Four of his earliest works were adapted in to films; Snowbound (1948) from The Lonely Skier (1947), Hell Below Zero (1954) from The White South (1949), Campbell's Kingdom (1957) from the book of the same name (1952), and The Wreck of the Mary Deare (1959) also from the book of the same name (1956). His 1973 novel Golden Soak was adapted into a six-part television series in 1979.

A disgraced merchant marine officer elects to stay aboard his sinking cargo ship in order to prove the vessel was deliberately scuttled and, as a result, vindicate his good name.
The Wreck of the Mary Deare
Levkas Man is a 1981 mini series about a doctor who goes to the Greek island of Levkas to prove a theory about prehistoric man. It was shot on location in Greece. Paul Gerrard is a man in search of his missing father - a wayward archaeologist who has disappeared from Greece.
